After roughly 7 years and a word game that spanned nearly 41,000 posts in a single thread, we're closing shop and moving.
The Science Fiction Fans community have been slowly dying off the last few years with a lack of participation and growth in membership, and I'm no exception to this with World of Warcraft Addition (2006-2008) , College (2001-2011), and working full time since 2008. As such, this forum shall be closed down by tomorrow night June 26, 2011. It will live on in the form of an Archive where you have to enter a username and password to access for historical viewing only. If you wish to view the old forum, please send a private message to either me or VSpun.
While I'm sad at closing down the ScienceFictionFans.com forum, this is a renaissance and not a death. We are moving to a new brand "Intrinsic Speculation" that will focus on Speculative Fiction and expand to include other genres beside Science Fiction. We also have some exciting features and ideas in the work that I can't tell you about yet. I have allocated roughly $1800 in the next 18 months for the purpose of promoting this new web site and building a vibrant forum community so that we may have a good place to discuss and our favorite TV shows and books.
If any of you are still alive at all and continue to be interested in things Science Fiction or Fantasy, or you just love that word game and want to be part of the next 1M Posts word games, come join us on the new forum, we hope this to be the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
